The Scientific Committee of the International Conference Translation, Inclusivity, and Educational Settings is pleased to announce our international Keynote speakers: Professor Henry Widdowson and Professor Barbara Seidlhofer.


English beyond the pale: the language of outsiders


Henry Widdowson is Professor Emeritus, University of London, and Honorary Professor at the University of Vienna. He is a founding editor of the journal Applied Linguistics and for 30 years the Applied Linguistics Adviser to Oxford University Press.

Barbara Seidlhofer is Professor at the University of Vienna. She is the founding director of the Vienna-Oxford International Corpus of English (VOICE) and founding editor of the Journal of English as a Lingua Franca (JELF).







The TIES Conference will be held in Italy at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” on 27-28-29 February 2020. TIES aims to bring together academics, researchers, and scholars to exchange information and share experiences and research results about all aspects concerning translation, inclusivity, and educational settings in our contemporary world.
