Transport

To/from Capodichino International Airport
Travelling from the airport to the historical city centre is quite easy. The Alibus runs (ideally) every 20 minutes and makes two stops: Stazione Centrale (Central Stations, in Piazza Garibaldi) and Molo Beverello (where you can catch a boat to Ischia, Capri and Procida). The Alibus ticket costs 4 € and can be purchased on the bus (3 € if you buy the ticket in the newspapers kiosk inside the airport). Otherwise you may want to take a taxi. If you choose this option, ignore the guys standing in the arrival hall and go straight outside. You'll see white taxi cabs and people lining to take one. Before starting your journey, choose between the fixed rate ("tariffa fissa", recommended during rush hours, 20-25 €) and the taximeter ("tassimetro", recommended if you arrive in the night or very early in the morning).

Getting around
To get around the city by bus or metro you need a ticket called UNICO: it can be used on the metro and bus network as well as for the funiculars. The UNICO ticket costs 1,30 € (daily ticket 3,70 €), has a validity of 90 minutes and must be purchased in advance. It is sold at newspaper kiosks and tobacco shops.
