The International Symposium on Animals in Ancient Egypt, the Middle Nile and their hinterlands aims to provide a thorough insight into the role of animals in Ancient Egyptian and Nubian societies, creating a fruitful scientific dialogue among the scholars from different disciplines – such as Egyptology, archaeozoology, restoration, Digital Humanities, ceramology, philology, history of art, science, economy, history of religion and Museology - who are working on this topic.
ISAAE 3 is organized by the University of Naples “L’Orientale” in partnership with the American University in Cairo (S. Ikram) and the Archéologie et Histoire de la Méditerranée et de l'Égypte Ancienne - Labex Archimède in Montpellier (S. Porcier).
The Symposium will take place on 15th-17th June 2022 as a hybrid event (in-person at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (Italy) and via zoom): both in-person attendees and virtual attendees will be welcomed.
