Bachelor’s Degrees
A Laurea (Bachelor’s Degree) is a three-year undergraduate program representing the first cycle of university studies in Italy. To obtain the degree, students must earn 180 university credits (ECTS), distributed across a maximum of 20 examinations.
The program lasts three years, and upon completion, students are awarded the Laurea and the academic title of Dottore (Doctor, as per Italian convention).
The main goal of the Laurea program is to provide a broad foundation in the core and specialized disciplines of the degree, while also preparing students professionally for entry into the job market.
Each degree program is designed to develop specific professional profiles. Information on career opportunities and professional pathways is provided in the individual program descriptions.
After Earning a bachelor’s degree (L), Students may access:
- First-level University Master’s Programs (Master universitari di I livello)
- Advanced or Continuing Education Courses (Corsi di Alta Formazione, di Aggiornamento permanente o ricorrente)
- Second-level Degrees (Lauree Magistrali)
Degree Classes
Bachelor’s programs are grouped into ministerial classes (classi di laurea). There are 43 recognized classes (plus 4 for health professions), which cluster degree programs based on shared learning outcomes.
While all Bachelor’s programs within the same class have equal legal status, curricula can vary significantly due to the academic autonomy of each university.
