Data.europa.eu is the official portal for European data, providing access to open data from various public administrations.
This workshop delves into the fascinating world of open data and its power to enhance your research skills. Initially tailored to students and academics, you are welcome to join to discover how to use open data to drive knowledge and innovation.
The workshop will start with an introduction by the Publications Office of the EU on open data and data.europa.eu. Then, a hands-on presentation will be given to go through the portal and show how to search for specific datasets.
Following this, three universities will present practical examples of how open data can be used to conduct research. The three universities presenting are KU Leuven, University of Amsterdam, and University of Naples L’Orientale.
Following the presentations, you will have the time to test your data skills and practice with the datasets available on the data.europa.eu portal through a practical assignment.
