Textiles: The texture of ideas in early modern Europe (1589-1801). Designs, patterns, craftsmanship and the early modern imagination' is the first of two conferences organised by the University of Naples L'Orientale in collaboration with Université de Haute Alsace, Mulhouse (organizers: Prof. Anna Maria Cimitile, L'Orientale, and Prof. Laurent Curelly, UHA). The aim of this interdisciplinary conference is to explore the interactions between textile manufacturing and intellectual life as well as the individual or collective imagination in the early modern period.
