International Development

In its tradition of intense international cultural relations and of constant collaboration with university institutions in other European and non-European countries, the University of Naples L'Orientale considers international and development cooperation an essential element of the academic context and of internationalisation processes also in the field of human and social sciences. Indeed, on the one hand, it is deeply linked to the “third mission” in its broadest sense and, on the other hand, to education and research. In this sense it:

  1. promotes cooperation with the countries of the South of the world by stimulating cultural, scientific and professional cooperation relations based on the concept of sustainable co-development and mutual scientific, cultural and socio-economic enrichment through the increased protection of traditions and tangible and intangible cultural heritage both at institutional and capacity-building level.
  2. enriches students' educational pathways and their ability to work and be active in the contemporary world,
  3. promotes research as an engine of development and innovation both in our country and abroad in the North and South of the world,
  4. reinforces the importance and work of partnerships and networks.
