The GLOBALREV seminar series will produce a comprehensive map of the connected histories of decolonisation, Third Worldism, and the New Radical Left in Western Europe. Its main hypothesis is that Third Worldism had a defining impact on the new political cultures that flourished during the long 1960s (mid-1950s to mid-1970s), associating a renewed anti-fascism with anti-colonial struggles and a brand new theorisation of feminism. Moving beyond standard histories of political parties or international relations, GLOBALREV aims at addressing the ‘cultural history of politics’ in a global perspective, encompassing local, national and transnational events, actors and networks.
