Course Overview

The Bachelor's Degree Program Ancient Civilizations and Archaeology: East and West is characterized by a strong international focus. It provides students with a broad and structured cultural and methodological foundation in archaeology and ancient history, covering the ancient, late antique, and medieval periods. Geographically, the program focuses on Europe, Africa, and Asia, in full alignment with the University’s academic tradition.

The program is divided into two curricula — East and West — which are framed within a continuous comparative approach to the cultures, histories, and arts of Eastern and Western civilizations. This approach enables students to explore the range of competencies required across different historical and geographical contexts; understand the complex web of relationships between civilizations; identify both shared elements and differences between cultural systems.

Participation in excavation campaigns, internships, and laboratory activities allows students to apply their theoretical and methodological knowledge in practical settings.
