Peer Tutoring
Peer tutoring is a service that offers valuable support in helping you design an academic path tailored to your interests and approach your studies with the right tools.
The service is structured as a peer tutoring system (student-to-student), designed for those who face challenges in their university path (both enrolled and non-enrolled students). It offers:
- Guidance and support from a perspective that is different from the professors’;
- Structured opportunities for socializing and integrating into university life;
- Tips for developing more effective study habits;
- Personalized assistance aimed at overcoming adaptation challenges and integrating into a new study environment;
- Guidance for addressing any gaps in knowledge, in close collaboration with the peer-tutors;
- Guidance for organizing the attendance schedule, structuring the study plan and planning exam preparation;
- Support in identifying an effective study method to better tackle particularly challenging exams (time management and priorization of study tasks).
You will have access to three different types of services:
- Welcome Tutoring,
- Integrative and Remedial Tutoring
- Specialized Tutoring.
Learn more below.
The Welcome Tutoring service is primarily aimed at newly enrolled students and those currently registered in active degree programs at our University. It is provided by students collaborating as tutors, whose role is to offer information and to address any doubts or issues related to academic and organizational matters that students may face during their university experience. This includes topics such as study plans, exam prerequisites, interactions with academic bodies, the administration office, orientation and more.
You can find your tutors at the SpOT - Orientation and Tutoring Desks.
Integrative and Remedial Tutoring is a service offered to bachelor's degree students who have faced challenges in preparing or passing exams in specific subjects, particularly during the first year.
The remedial activities are carried out by master’s degree students, who obtained a tutoring grant and are specifically trained and coordinated by the faculty members in charge of each subject involved.
The available subjects for peer tutoring services may vary each year.
Below are the subjects for which academic and remedial tutoring services are available, divided into:
A) LANGUAGES

Please find the calendars for each tutoring session for each subject below. Unless otherwise specified, the sessions will be held on the MICROSOFT TEAMS platform. You will receive the meeting access link directly from your subject’s tutor.

Specialized Tutoring is a service that, through a personalized educational plan and using compensatory and dispensatory methodological-learning tools, aims to eliminate or reduce the barriers that students with disabilities and/or certified Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) may encounter in pursuing their chosen academic path. The actual tutoring services will be determined based on the specific needs of the students who have made the request.
It is provided by specialized tutors, specifically selected for the role. The main areas of support include individual study assistance for exam preparation or writing the final thesis, as well as help with attending lectures (typically, through note-taking).
The service aims to promote personal autonomy, integrate students into the academic environment, foster their active participation in the learning process, improve the learning context and implement targeted interventions based on individual conditions and educational needs, in an effort to create an inclusive environment.
International Tutoring is a service aimed at international and Erasmus students, either enrolled at our University or seeking information about our Degree Programs. It is provided by students collaborating as tutors, enrolled in Master’s Degree programs, whose role is to offer guidance in course selection, study methods, administrative procedures, as well as support for adapting to the academic environment to ensure a smooth and successful integration into university life.
As part of the organized activities, we offer SpOT (Orientation and Tutoring Desks), online orientation sessions before enrollment or arrival at our University, guided tours of the University campuses, guided tours of the city’s historic center and more.
You can find our tutors at the SpOT - Orientation and Tutoring Desks.
If you are currently a student enrolled in one of our University's Master's degree programs, you can apply to become a peer tutor.
Every year the University publishes selection calls for the different types of tutoring services, which are posted in the "Calls and Competitions" (Bandi e Concorsi) section of the official website (use the filter "Structure": Orientation Office, Inclusivity, Internships, Placement and Student Collaborations), as well as on the University Noticeboard.
To apply, you must meet the specific requirements outlined in each individual call, which may include criteria such as your bachelor's degree grade, a minimum number of ECTS credits earned and the average grade of your completed master’s exams.
According to the Regulation for the allocation of tutoring grants at the University of Naples "L'Orientale," tutoring grants cannot be combined with paid employment (public or private) or with part-time student jobs during the same academic year.
