Aiming to enhance services for students, the University of Naples “L’Orientale” has joined AlmaLaurea, an inter-university consortium comprising 60 Italian universities which, with the support of the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), seeks to foster connections between university education, graduates and the labour market.
To achieve its objectives, AlmaLaurea:
· collects information and feedback from graduates in order to understand their university experience and employment status;
· analyzes, processes and publishes the data collected to help guide young people in their academic and career choices and to support universities in planning their educational offerings;
· ensures that the CVs of recent graduates and graduates with work experience are available online, making them accessible to companies, businesses and any other potential employers. AlmaLaurea’s online database grows by an average of 15 000 new CVs each year - also translated into English - and it is a unique tool in Italy in terms of size, quality and timeliness.
To enable AlmaLaurea to build its statistics and graduates database, participating universities ask graduating students to complete a Questionnaire, in compliance with privacy regulations, which gathers feedback on their academic experience and information about their study path.
AlmaLaurea also offers a service for consulting postgraduate education opportunities (second-cycle degree programmes, advanced courses, specialization schools, first- and second-level postgraduate programmes and PhD programmes) from both Italian and international universities. These are published on the Dashboard.
Finally, a job search service is available for viewing job offers published by companies on the AlmaLaurea website, allowing candidates to apply directly by submitting their CV online.
